Mrs Bing: Jade, dear, what do you want to do for Christmas?

Jade: I don't know, mum. What are the options? Visiting grandma or aunt Portia?

Mrs Bing: No, I can't handle any more family parties this year. I've been thinking about going somewhere abroad, just you and me. What do you think?

Jade: Sounds fun.

Mrs Bing: Where shall we go? Italy, perhaps?

Jade: What do you want to see in Italy?

Mrs Bing: Well, we can go to Rome and visit the Colosseum.

Jade: What is it?

Mrs Bing: The Colosseum is an ancient oval theatre. It is almost two thousand years old. In the Roman Empire, it was used as an event hall. They held gladiatorial shows and other events there. Unfortunately, they even killed Christians there but we can't do anything about history, can we?

Jade: I just looked it up on the Internet. It looks really old, why hasn't it been repaired yet?

Mrs Bing: Because otherwise, it wouldn't be so precious.

Jade: I don't know, mum. It doesn't seem too much fun. Maybe we should go to South Korea?

Mrs Bing: And what shall we see in Korea?

Jade: We should start with Korean palaces like Changdeokgung or Gyeongbokgung. They are both located in Seoul. Then we should visit their parks. My friend Amy showed pictures from there, it's gorgeous. But first of all, Day should go to Myeong-dong street. It is Seoul's main shopping district. We will shop for Korean cosmetics, our favourite.

Mrs Bing: I suppose it's a good idea.

Jade: Come on, mum. Everyone goes to the continent for Christmas.

Mrs Bing: OK, I give up. Please, look for the tickets on the Internet, and I'll book us a room in a hotel.

Jade: Objection! Let's do otherwise, I want to look at the pictures of hotels.
