\(\boxed{4}\) Imagine that you are doing a project "Being an Only Child" together with your friend. You have found some illustrations, and you want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:

  • give a brief description of the photos, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
  • say in what way the pictures are different, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
  • mention the advantages and disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of families;
  • express your opinion on the subject of the project—whether you would like to be an only child and why.

You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.

Now read the suggested answer below and number the parts of the possible answer in the correct order 1–9 according to the plan above.

[ ]The people in the first picture are sitting in a very tidy room, and the atmosphere is relaxed, whereas the space in the second photo is messy, and the family members feel tired.

[ ]I think both families have their flaws and merits. Being an only child means that a kid gets complete parents' attention and affection. However, according to psychologists, those children usually grow into selfish adults with poor communication skills.

[ ]That's all for now. I'll be waiting for your opinion about the photos!

[ ]I'm sure that these photos illustrate our project perfectly. It's obvious that they depict two different types of families which are with one child and three children.

[ ]Let me start with a brief description of the photos. In the first photo, I see two parents and their child who is a daughter. They are spending time together and watching something on the laptop. There are two parents too and three children in the second photo. They are having fun in the parents' bedroom. They are maybe planning their weekend.

[ ]Hi, Alex. That's Andy speaking. Do you remember that we are doing a project? Well, I have found two photos that will perfectly illustrate it. Let's discuss them.

[ ]If you ask me, I wouldn't like to be an only child because I find life without siblings boring. I have a brother and a sister. It's great to share some news with them or ask for proper advice.

[ ]On the one hand, an important advantage of having a few children is that everyone is ready to help and there is always a sibling to spend time with or to talk to. On the other hand, one of the main disadvantages is that parents are sometimes under increasing pressure to make everything work.

[ ]Nevertheless, I can point out the main difference between the photos.
