Olga: Hi, what's your name?
Tom: My name's Tom.
Olga: My name's Olga. Nice to meet you. I'm from Russia, and where are you from?
Tom: I'm from England.
Olga: Great. That's interesting. How old are you?
Tom: I'm sixteen.
Olga: I'm fifteen. Are you taking photos of the sea?
Tom: Yes, I am. Taking photos is my hobby. Everyone says I'm good at it. I even earn some money selling them.
Olga: That's amazing! Can I have a look at some of your photos?
Tom: Yes, sure. This one is my favourite.
Olga: It shows a sort of historical performance, right? There are men dressed up as medieval knights fighting and ladies in fancy dress costumes. Is it a re-enactment?
Tom: Yes, it's a re-enactment on St George's Day. I was there with my brother. He was one of the knights.
Olga: And what is St George's Day? Is it a festival?
Tom: Yes, it's an English holiday. We celebrate it on April 23. St George was a Christian saint, and he is the patron saint of England.
Olga: There are a lot of flags with red crosses on a white background. That's the national flag of England, isn't it?
Tom: Yes, it is. A red cross on a white background is St George's cross. Look, some people are wearing a red rose on their clothes. A red rose is another symbol of St George.
