Traditionally, it's a special occasion when two families get together to celebrate. A lot of relatives and friends come from all over the world to wish the couple all the best. Traditions differ from country to country. In Russia, the newlyweds* take a bite of homemade bread as they enter the reception. Bride kidnapping is another Russian custom.

This is a religious holiday celebrated by Christians all over the world. It usually takes place in spring, right after the Lent**. Although the dates and traditions may vary in different Churches, the occasion is the same: the resurrection of Christ. The symbols around the world include a bunny, a chicken and coloured eggs.

It's an annual special occasion that everyone celebrates in their own way. Some love having a feast with their family, while others spend it away from home to make it more memorable. Sometimes it is marked with some important periods in one's life, for instance, coming of age. It's customary to present gifts and sign a gift card with best wishes for the upcoming year.

This is a holiday many of us are looking forward to since the first snow. Fairs and other festive activities take place in towns and cities all over the world. We decorate a tree and have a feast or a fancy party at work or school. After the celebration, we have a long holiday. Some of us make a wish or set goals as the clock strikes midnight.
