Imagine that you are doing a project on the top five jobs popular among young people. You have collected some data on the subject—the results of the sociological survey (see the table below).
Comment on the data in the table and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.
| Courier | 60 % |
| Waiter | 55 % |
| Sales consultant | 40 % |
| Cleaning services employee | 30 % |
| Call centre operator | 28 % |
Write 200–250 words.
Use the following plan:
- make an opening statement on the subject of the project work;
- select and report 2–3 main features;
- make 1–2 comparisons where relevant;
- outline a problem that can arise with teenage issues and suggest the way of solving it;
- draw a conclusion giving your personal opinion on the issues on most popular professions among young people.
Many young people, being students, try [to find|find|finding]a source of income. Many people want to spend it [at|on|for]entertainment and dating. Others do not want to depend on their parents, rent housing and buy food themselves. [But|How|While]the fact is that without education, they cannot find a [salary|job|career]by profession.
[A|An|The]survey shows the rating of the [many|more|most]popular professions [among|through|under]young people during their university studies. The most popular job is a courier, [who|which|where]is not surprising. Couriers are [never|usually|yesterday][men|man|children]who have a car or a bicycle. Many people ride electric scooters. Couriers are irreplaceable [during|instead of|rather]a pandemic. For [such|so|as not as]a job, being no older [then|than|that]30 is an important criterion. It is necessary to be active. Less popular, but also in demand work as a waiter. In [first|second|third]place is a consultant in the store. Mostly girls work. Cleaners and [name|call|say]centre operators [have been chosen|chosen|have chosen]even more popular now. I agree that working at a young age is a very [best|better|good]opportunity to [spend|waste|earn]money and gain experience.
But there is a risk [this|these|that]a person will begin to need constant earnings even more, and there is [a few|few|little]time to work because of studies. Thus, many do not choose to study. This is followed [for|by|as]expulsion from the university. And the above-mentioned specialists, although in demand, have no prospects for development.
[On the one hand|To begin with|In addition], it is important to note that work is a good opportunity for young people, but do not forget about the profession that will help to build a career in the future.

Imagine that you are doing a project on what unusual jobs young people know about. You have collected some data on the subject—the results of the sociological survey (see the diagram below).
Comment on the data in the diagram and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.

Now read the sample piece of writing below and choose the correct options to complete the text.
There [is|are|be]many professions in the world. Every profession is important. It is not surprising [this|that|those]more and more new professions [disappear|appear|become extinct]every day. [People's|Peoples'|Peoples's]need for services is growing and there are many people [which|where|who]are ready to [do|make|spend]money on this business. Many professions are based [off|on|at]barter conditions. [Despite|Although|For example], a Secret buyer can pick [on|up|at]purchases for himself if he fulfils a number of conditions and records on a dictaphone [when|how|who]the staff communicates [without|with|within]the client.
Many called the beach tester a heavenly job. It also seems to [him|me|I]that sunbathing on [the best|the worst|bad]beaches in the world and earning money at the same time is cool. Another unusual profession is a Trimidator. This is a person who [will stand|stands|stood]in line for you. It is relevant when a new phone [trend|thing|model]comes out or you need to get to a famous party or attraction. I didn't imagine that dogs [should|can|must]surf and there is a person [what|who|which]trains them. It sounds very unusual. Well, the most unusual profession [call|called|was called]a bridesmaid or [good|bad|best]man for rent.
It seems to me that these professions are unusual, but not all of them benefit humanity. [On the one hand|To begin with|For example], a friend for rent is a deception on the part of the bride and [bloom|groom|clown]who want to make the wedding bright and cheerful. Trimidator is for lazy people. The best profession from the top, [to|in|for]my opinion, is a beach tester.
I doubt that there are [so|such|as not as]professions in our country, but I [shall|would|will]like to go for an interview to get one of them.
