Speaker A
I'm really looking forward to finishing school. I couldn't find a true friend here. My family moved here a year ago—I used to study at another place. I was unlucky with my classmates. The problem is—I wear huge glasses because of my bad eyesight. Contacts are contraindicated for me. But I constantly get bullied and shamed for my glasses. I tried to explain my situation to some classmates, but they wouldn't listen. Then I just started ignoring them, and that's all. I hope to meet kind and understanding people when I go to college.
Speaker B
I love hanging out with my friends. All of my friends study in the same class as me, so we see each other all week. And we usually go out on weekends. My mates and I are just inseparable. Some teenagers say that school is a bore, but not me. Although I'm not fond of studies, I love spending my school time with the people who share my interests. We discuss plenty of stuff: movies, sports, cars and, of course, computers. The teachers are strict with me because I'm a weak student, but I'm sure they love my jokes. Nevertheless, I'm kind, and I always show respect to them.
Speaker C
Studies mean everything to me. I'm fond of learning and discovering new information, and I go to school with a great pleasure. Speaking about my friends, I can say that I have two friends from the same class as me. We love spending our spare time on weekends, and I help them with their studies. Next school year we are going to different cities to study, and, of course, I will be missing them. I'm keen on Biology and Chemistry, and I'm going to study medicine. In my future profession I see myself as a therapist. I hope all my knowledge will help other people to stay healthy.
Speaker D
My parents are serious scientists, and they want me to follow their steps. My father is a Doctor in Physics, and my mother earned her Doctor Degree in Biology. I'm proud of my parents, but I'm keen on music, and I want to be a masterful guitar player. At school my friends and I have a band. Once, we even had a professional studio recording. We play at all the school concerts, and now we are rehearsing to perform at a city contest!
But my parents don't like the idea of having a musician in their family. They are afraid that I won't be able to earn money in the future.
Speaker E
I am the only child in my family—unfortunately, I have no siblings. My parents want me to be a school teacher because they think I am good at explaining information. I don't mind it, but I'm afraid that I won't be earning enough money to support my future family. My parents are conservative, and they have respect for such professions like doctors or teachers. Still, I wish I could make my choice by myself. But when I think of it, I get a bit frightened—adults are more experienced in these issues and I'm too young and can make a mistake.
Speaker F
My boyfriend is two years older than me, and he is a second-year student. He studies Marketing, and he succeeds in it. I'm finishing school this year, and I have a strong desire to become an interpreter. But the problem is that we don't have such a specialty at our universities. I have to go to another city and live in a dormitory. I'm upset because I don't want to divide it into two parts—I don't want to leave my boyfriend here, and I want to get the dream profession. My parents say they can't give me advice here, but they will support any of my decisions.
