Choose the correct options

The [active|passive] voice requires the common word order. We put the [subject|object] first. The subject has the function of the "doer" (somebody or something that performs the action). The object has the function of the "receiver" (person or thing that receives the action of the verb).

For example:

I made a cup of tea. — "I" is the [subject|object] and "cup" is the [subject|object].

In the [active|passive] voice, the person or thing that the action was done to becomes the [subject|object] of the sentence. The "doer" is either left out or placed in a prepositional phrase.

For example:

A cup of tea was made (by me). — Here, "cup" is the [subject|object] and "by me" is the prepositional phrase.

We also can use modal verbs in the passive voice. To do that, we need to add the verb ["have"|"be"] and leave the modal verb unchanged.

For example:

They might/can/should make a cup of tea. — active

A cup of tea might/can/should be made. — passive
