Spending time with friends is always a good idea. But sometimes we all [are wanting to be|want to be|want being]alone for a while. And that is when [to explore|explored|exploring]your city [might be|might have been|might not]a great idea. Here are some things you can do.
If your hometown [visits|is visited|is being visited]by thousands of tourists every year, it [can't|must|have to] have got something to offer. Explore the tourist attractions. Most of the locals hardly ever visit historical sites or museums in the city. You [don't have to be|can't have to be|do have to be]one of them. Nonetheless, if you are anything but a culture vulture, you [needn't to|don't need to|don't need]force yourself to visit all the museums in the city in one day. Take up a new activity. Local communities in social media usually offer a great variety of things to do at the weekend. You can always find something entertaining there.
Another good idea is to challenge yourself. It [could be|can to be|might being]a one-day challenge, e.g. taking a picture of every cat you see as you walk along the street, or making 20,000 steps a day. A challenge lasting a month or even a year is also an option. For example, take a picture of the same place every day for 365 days, post them in your blog and see how it [change|changes|changs]throughout the year.
