My favourite holiday is Christmas. It's the time of family celebration, traditional feast and beautiful decorations in our family. Every year we gather in my grandparent's house. Every member of the family has to do some part of the preparations.
My grandmother and mother cook a holiday dinner. My father decorates the house. My sister and I help him. We especially like to decorate the Christmas tree. My grandfather hides the presents in the house. There is a family tradition of a "present hunt" in our family. It's the most exciting part of the holiday for me! I am always the first one who finds a present.
But this year is completely different. My parents' friends from Spain has invited us to celebrate at their house. Their family has some special traditions too. They visit a big Christmas parade where you can have fun and see a beautiful firework display. Children can also take part and sing Christmas carols in their neighbourhood to get some money. They also have a traditional meal which includes turkey with mushrooms called truffles, or a roasted hen and different kinds of seafood.
We are waiting for this years' holiday with excitement! This is a new experience for us.
