What is a drone? A drone is a mechanism that is remotely controlled. It can be distantly moved not only by air but also on water or under it. In fact, drones are transport robots which can crawl or fly, take soil samples, collect data, shoot videos, etc. The role of the 'pilot' who controls the drone is to identify the final goal. After that, the system of robots which is integrated into the drone assigns responsibilities, establishes the algorithm, performs the task and gives the results to the person in an accessible form.
Unmanned aerial vehicles have become helpful assistants that fulfil various tasks. They deliver mail, collect geological data, study the climate in severe Arctic conditions and monitor the animals there. They look for breakthroughs in oil pipelines, send ships and oil platforms signals about icebergs, and warn fish farms about the storm. In the future, they will be able to participate in rescue operations and search for people in conditions of poor visibility.
There are also underwater drones. Their task is to investigate the condition of the water. An example of the simplest underwater drone is the Argo, a so-called float that conducts monitoring at a depth of 1-2 km. Every ten days, it pops up, finds a hole in the ice, transmits data and goes back underwater again.
Unmanned cars will become a great breakthrough in the future. According to statistics, 1.25 million people in the world are killed in road accidents every year. And 80% of the accidents are due to the influence of the human factor. Unmanned automobiles will solve this problem and save a lot of people's' lives.
