Script
Bella: Mum, I want a separate room. I can't share a room with Lina anymore.

Mother: Why, Bella? What's wrong?

Bella: I like my room to be clean and tidy, but Lina always turns it into a mess. She is always leaving things everywhere. Her clothes are on the floor and the chairs, and there are her T-shirts on my bed! Her make-up is everywhere. But the worst thing is she brings food into the room and leaves dirty dishes with remnants of her favourite pizza everywhere.

Mother: That's bad. That's not healthy and that must be smelly.

Bella: Yes, those dishes smell horrible. I usually tidy up on Saturday, but sometimes I just can't stand the smell and have to tidy the room every day. And Lina never tidies up. I tell her she shouldn't leave the room like that, and she says it's my problem that I hate the mess. And she feels OK about it.

Mother: I'll talk to her about it, Bella.

Bella: That's what you always say, Mum, but the things just don't change. And another problem is she is a very noisy roommate. She's a rock music fan, and she plays loud rock music, and if I ask her to use her earphones, she just laughs and the music goes on.

Mother: I've never heard Lina playing loud music, Bella.

Bella: Of course, you haven't. She does that in the daytime when you're at work. And I can't study well because of that. And she never gets off the phone. She just talks, and talks, and talks to her friends and Peter. It drives me crazy.

Mother: Peter? Who's Peter? Is he a boy from your class?

Bella: Peter's her boyfriend. A nasty guy.

Mother: Well, Bella, this isn't not very good. I don't want you two to have conflicts. You're sisters, you're twins, so you must be close to each other.

Bella: I know, Mum. We're twins, but we're different. So the only way for us not to have conflicts is to have separate rooms.

Mother: But we haven't got an extra room, Bella.

Bella: No problem, Mum. I can have a room in the attic. We don't use it anyway. And can I have a lock door and the keys to lock the door?

Mother: That's a strange idea, Bella. Why?

Bella: Because Lina's always taking my things without asking. Yesterday she took my new jeans.

Mother: I don't think it's a good idea to lock the door, Bella. But you can have your room in the attic. You'll have to clean the attic and tidy it up, Bella. It's very dirty.

Bella: Not as dirty as the bedroom I share with Lina. Thanks, Mum. Will you talk to Lina?

Mother: Yes, I will. I think she'll be happy to have the bedroom all to herself.
