Script
Along with Greek and Roman mythology, Russian folklore has a lot of strange creatures with different historical and cultural backgrounds. The Firebird is one of them. This magical bird with glowing feathers emitted red, orange and yellow light like a bonfire. It was believed that a firebird came from the heavens or some distant lands. Myths say that a firebird is a symbol of a blessing or a threat for a person who tries to catch it. If a person succeeds in capturing it, his life will be happier, but if he doesn't, he will cross the Styx*. So, the bird symbolizes a treasure that is difficult to own. The power of this magnificent creature lies in its magical feathers of golden colour, indicating wealth and happiness. Another interesting fact about this bird is that when the bird feels any death threat, it will burn itself to ashes only to be reborn again from it.

*to cross the Styx - to die
