Kevin: Welcome to the School Life Radio. Today we're hosting Dr March, the distinguished physician and nutritionist.
Kevin: Dr March, thank you for coming.
Dr March: Thank you, Kevin. I'm a fan of School Radio. It's a great way to educate teenagers.
Kevin: Dr March, the first question I want to ask is about the most harmful things for our health.
Dr March: Well, you know that nowadays teens are facing many difficulties. You guys have a lot of sources of stress, such as exams, deadlines, relationships, etc., and if you get too stressed it can be harmful to your health.
Kevin: I had no idea! Can you tell us, please, about the most likely cause of stress?
Dr March: In my opinion, the biggest cause of stress is sleepless nights. A lack of sleep can cause many health problems. If you don't sleep enough, for example, \(six\) to \(eight\) hours a night, you can suffer from anxiety or depression. Your thoughts may begin to wander more often, you may become more forgetful, and it will be more difficult to concentrate during the day. Often this makes people want to eat food such as burgers or fries. But the high fat and carbohydrate content can make you a bit overweight, which is another source of stress, especially for teens.
Kevin: Oh my gosh! That's so true! What about coffee? Doesn't that help?
Dr March: Well, I know that drinking coffee has become very popular among students. But it isn't as effective as you think. It does have caffeine, which stimulates the nervous system. But in reality, it doesn't help us to feel less tired or sleepy. To the contrary, excessive use of caffeine can actually make you feel more tired.
Kevin: Does that mean that we shouldn't drink coffee at all?
Dr March: No, of course not! You can drink coffee, especially if you enjoy having a cup to get your morning started. But try not to drink more than \(two\) cups a day, and don't drink any caffeine in the evening. Instead, try some decaffeinated drinks such as fruit juice or matcha.
Kevin: Well, thank you, Dr March, for the very helpful and cool tips, and thank you for being our guest on the show today!
Dr March: You're welcome, Kevin.
