A. When people ask me what I want to become after school, I answer that I want to be a freelancer. I don't want to go to university. I'm thinking of working on the Internet, as I'm well versed in targeting and copywriting. It would be great to travel and work remotely at the same time. But my parents don't understand me. They think my idea is just stupid and I don't think about the future at all. And I just don't want to waste a few useless years at university.
B. Whatever job my son chooses, I would like this profession to have a perspective in the future. This does not mean that a person will not improve their qualifications. Development is always necessary. But it is important that the profession is either in demand according to our modern world, or in demand for centuries. In the first case, this is an Internet-related job, and in the second it is a teacher, doctor, accountant. But at the same time, I will not insist if the child chooses what he likes, but does not coincide with my desire.
C. Nowadays there is no guarantee that the education received will be used for its intended purpose. I know a lot of classmates who have changed several jobs. Someone moved to another country and mastered a completely new profession. There is nothing permanent in the world. Choosing a profession is a decision at a time when a person feels that this is relevant. But no one can predict for decades. I think that it will be possible to get into the stream if you link the work with information technology.
D. Nowadays it is not enough to have one profession. I mean, any employee should have many other skills. For example, to know some popular or rare foreign language, to write competently, to know important computer programs. These skills will make the employee more noticeably in demand in the labour market and prove that he is constantly developing.
E. The demand for professions is changing in the world. Even in medicine, this trend is noticeable. For example, now the most popular doctors are surgeons, oncologists, virologists and dentists. Many people call plastic surgeons for some reason, but this is not the case. The relevance of the profession depends on the needs of society. If a future student can recognise what needs will be in the future, then he will correctly choose a profession that is going to be popular.
F. I noticed that many teenagers certainly dream of becoming famous. To have a profession in the field of entertainment, show business. This greatly devalues the talents of others. Now we see a lot of new faces on TV, and not everyone knows how to sing or act in a movie. I think that show business is not a very long-term prospect, especially if you start your career at an early age. After a while, celebrities go into the shadows or just grow up.
G. I'm so lucky that now I can live in the village. I work in IT and I can work remotely. Moreover, I work flexible hours, so I can schedule my day and dedicate some time for myself. I couldn't afford it when I worked in the office in the city centre. My parents also live here in the house on the next street. They are not young, so I can help them around the garden in the summer. When I have my own family, I hope I won't have to move back to the city.
