Третий тип условных придаточных предложений выражает нереальное (воображаемое) условие, относящееся к прошлому: If you had invested more money in your business, you could have made a bigger profi t in those times; If the fog had not been so thick, the road conditions would have been much better yesterday; If it had not been for the heat, we would have felt very comfortable in Egypt lastsummer.
Примечание: в главном предложении с условным придаточным третьего типа используется конструкция would/could/might have + Past Participle. В условном придаточном предложении третьего типа используется прошедшее перфектное простое время: If he had not lost time, he could have achieved much more at the university when he was a student.
