Three different speakers are explaining what dreams are. Read the text and answer the questions below.

Alex. Psychologists normally state that our dreams can reflect the impressions and emotions we collect while being awake. There is no proof that dreams may symbolise something particular, predict the future, or tell us what exactly we should do. However, they are still a powerful instrument of self-understanding. For example, bad dreams may help you to notice that you've lost your way in life or you're under stress.

Brian. Dreams are just a load of rubbish! Lots of people talk about interpreting dreams and using them to find out something about yourself, but that makes no sense to me. I'll tell you what my dreams are like! Today, a flying pasta monster and a UFO with pink and green aliens with huge tentacles chase me and I have to shoot back with a blaster made of sweets. Tomorrow, I meet my favourite actor at the local park but he turns out to be my classmate and we decide to travel to Spain by car together. Do you really think I should reflect on this? I doubt that.

Claire. Neuroscientists explain the nature of dreaming. When we sleep, our mind is active but not in the way it works when we're awake. Some parts of our brain that work when we do something during the day are half-active when we sleep without dreams and stop completely when we see dreams. So, dreaming can be explained by chemical changes in these areas.
