Three different speakers are explaining what dreams are. Read the text and answer the questions below.

Alex. I believe that dreams are extremely important! I always write down the dreams I have and look them up on the Internet in order to find the best interpretation. I'm sure that dreams can help us to live a better life because they give us lots of signs. Recently, I had an awful nightmare about my sister. I asked her to stay home the next day, and you'll never believe what happened! The bus she usually takes got in a road accident! I'm extremely glad that my subconscious mind helped keep her safe and sound.

Brian. Neuroscientists explain the nature of dreaming. When we sleep, our mind is active but not in the way it works when we're awake. Some parts of our brain that work when we do something during the day are half-active when we sleep without dreams and stop completely when we see dreams. So, dreaming can be explained by chemical changes in these areas.

Claire. Dreams are just a load of rubbish! Lots of people talk about interpreting dreams and using them to find out something about yourself, but that makes no sense to me. I'll tell you what my dreams are like! Today, a flying pasta monster and a UFO with pink and green aliens with huge tentacles chase me and I have to shoot back with a blaster made of sweets. Tomorrow, I meet my favourite actor at the local park but he turns out to be my classmate and we decide to travel to Spain by car together. Do you really think I should reflect on this? I doubt that.
