What places to eat out would you recommend a tourist to visit in your town/city? Are they expensive? What kind of food do they serve? Let's read about favourite places of three foreigners who live and work in Moscow.
My favourite place to have a snack in Moscow is a pancake house (blinnaya). You don't have to wait long for your order there and the prices are not expensive. They have different kinds of baked and fried meals like pancakes, spring rolls, muffins, waffles, cheese pancakes and pies. I like ham or cheese spring rolls. They are very tasty and filling. I usually take pancakes with jam or honey for dessert.

I'm very busy at work, so I usually don't have a lot of time for lunch. That's why I always go to the canteen not far from my office. They offer cheap set meals, which are different depending on the day of the week. What's more important, you can take away the food you like. So if the canteen is full during lunchtime, I can eat at my office. Sometimes I even take the food home.

The best place to eat out for me is a dumpling bar (pelmennaya). It's a kind of snack bar where you can find different kinds of dumplings (also known as ravioli). The fillings are different and can include meat (beef or pork), poultry (chicken or turkey), cottage cheese and fruit (cherry, strawberries and many others). They also offer some snacks like salads and sandwiches. You can also order hot and cold soft drinks.
