Families in Russia

Families in Russia are a key part of the society. The family members are very close to each other, and they often live close to each other too, sometimes even in the same home. This traditional way of living helps keep strong family ties. Families host big gatherings for holidays and special occasions, sharing meals and spending time together. They teach children values like respect, hard work, and kindness, and help them learn about their customs and religion. Parents are proud to see their children grow up to be educated and successful.

To support families, the Russian government has several measures in place. For example, there are programmes that give money to families with more than one child. This is called the maternity capital programme, and it helps families pay for things like education, buying an apartment, and other needs. There are also laws that allow parents to take time off work when they have a newborn baby. This time is called parental leave, and it is very important for new parents.

They spend money on kindergartens, schools, and universities so that everyone is able to study and reach their professional goals. For example, during the period from 2019 to 2021, 851 schools were built, and in 2022, 1,298 schools were renovated.
