Most festivals represent music or dance events but sometimes they can be very unusual and even shocking. Here are some of them.

The festival is held every year to mark the beginning of spring. It usually lasts 2-3 days in late February or early March. Locals pour water over each other and throw the coloured spices into people nearby.The Indians believe: the more colours there will be on a person's face and his clothes, the more success he will get next year.

This unusual festival is held in the city of Boriong in South Korea. People celebrate it every year in the second week of July. It was first held in 1998. The point is to throw mud to other participants to make them dirty. Watch out! All the people who are close to the place of mud fighting can get dirty. The aim of this festival is ... to make the baby cry. Two sumo wrestlers enter the ring holding two children under 1 year old. Each of the wrestlers tries to make the child of his opponent cry. Usually, they do it with help of scary masks and loud sounds. The Japanese believe that crying makes a baby healthier, so sometimes it is good to make them cry.

The Lemon Festival is another original event that takes place every year for two weeks in France. It is organised to celebrate the harvest of lemons grown there throughout the year. The festival uses over 120 tons of these bright yellow and orange citrus fruit. Lemons and oranges become the material for the construction of unusually beautiful castles, trees, sculptures that you can eat. Festival guests also have an opportunity to try natural juices, jelly and other citrus delicacies.
