Healthy eating is important for teenagers and adults. What does it mean to eat healthily?

First of all, your meals should include many vegetables. You can cook fresh seasonal vegetables like peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers and also use some frozen ones such as broccoli, spinach and so on. Try to eat no more than three or four fruit a day as it contains a lot of sugar, which is not very good for your health.

Secondly, it is a great idea to drink more water and less juice and fizzy drinks like cola. Doctors say that we should drink about eight glasses of fresh water a day. You can add a slice of lemon into it to make it tastier. When you drink coffee and tea, put as little sugar in it as possible because sugar gives extra calories. But if you are a sweet tooth, try making smoothies—they are sweet because of the fruit in them and healthy at the same time.

Thirdly, you should eat at least three times a day or more. Also, it’s better to follow a plan and take regular meals at a fixed time. For example, try to have breakfast just before going to school and lunch right after coming home. By the way, dinner should be the lightest meal of the day. Do not eat too much before going to bed, or there can be problems with sleeping.

Finally, remember that fast food is not healthy and may damage your health. If you are hungry, eat an apple or some other fruit, not chips or fries. From time to time, you can have a cheat meal and eat a big pizza or a burger. But do not do it too often, or you can gain weight and become fat.
