Bali is an island with a character. It is quite contrasting, and there are many different conjectures and stereotypes about it. Unlike almost perfect Thailand, which is loved by almost everyone, after visiting Bali, some tourists swear that they will never set foot there again. The others, despite all the disadvantages, consider it ideal and fall in love with the island! So what are the disadvantages of the "Paradise" island?

No great beaches

This has been said many times and will be repeated again: Bali is not suitable for a beach holiday. There are no "bounty" beaches and most of them are either shallow, or there are large waves, or there is no infrastructure, or they are very crowded. Of course, there are exceptions, but they are few.

High humidity

The humidity level here rarely falls below eighty per cent, so the heat on the island is quite difficult to bear. In addition to this — long-drying things and mould on your favourite clothes.

Dangerous sun

Being in the sun in the daytime is extremely dangerous. The skin, especially unaccustomed to the sun, burns instantly, and you can get sunburned several times during the holiday. Also, lots of people get a sunstroke.

Lack of public transport

If you are used to using trains, buses and other public vehicles, then you will be disappointed: there is nothing like this, and without your own transport (or using a taxi) it will be very difficult here.

Tasteless local cuisine

Dishes that are prepared in local cafes are often highly fried, fatty and spicy. It is easier to find something tasty in touristic places. But when you leave these areas, you have only two dishes to choose — fried noodles and fried rice.
