Thunderstorms, floods, and tornadoes occurred in South Texas, the USA. Five people have been killed, up to 30 have been injured. Part of them have drowned in floodwaters, the others have got into tornadoes.
The rescue teams worked hard to find and save as many people as possible. About 3,000 survivors have been given first aid and then delivered to hospitals. Some of them have been buried under the buildings that collapsed like houses of cards.
More than 10,000 houses have been left without power and water. Many buildings were completely destroyed, which left people homeless and caused serious damage to business and infrastructure. The horrific weather conditions uprooted trees and downed power lines.
There’s still a risk of a new disaster in this region.
