The horrific eruption caused several fires in the jungle, but the firefighters stopped them quickly.
The scientists had known about the coming eruption before it started, but the government didn’t want to evacuate people from the island for economic reasons.
We’ll never find out how many tourists have been buried under the layers of volcanic lava and ash.
