Read the text about a ghost town and find a word for each definition in it. Write all the nouns in singular.
Ross Island is both an island and a town. It's located in the Indian Ocean. The town was built in 1858 by British colonists, but today it belongs to New Zealand. There were barracks, churches, shops, and even hospitals. However, in the late 18th century, people left the island because of the extreme climatic conditions.
About 60 years later, the island was used by the British as an administrative centre, but in 1941 an earthquake almost completely destroyed the town, and no one has returned there since.
