A. The University of Helsinki appeared in the seventeenth century as a Catholic school for boys. Nowadays it has got about thirty-five thousand students and eleven institutes. It has got a lot of campuses around the city, but the most famous is the City Centre Campus. It combines neo-classical and modernist architecture styles and provides the students with fantastic settings to learn in.

B. The second oldest university in Japan is located in Kyoto, the former capital with a long history. Kyoto University is proud of its traditions and culture. It has got about twenty-three thousand students and three campuses situated in different parts of Kyoto. The oldest and the most beautiful one is the Yoshida campus. Ten Nobel laureates come from the University of Kyoto.
