 In 1853, Levi Strauss travelled to San Francisco  

from New York. His brothers ran a business there. He sold pillows, blankets and
clothes and Levi went to help them. They worked hard and, over the 4 ______  twenty

was about a difficult customer, who kept on tearing the pockets of his
