Modern children can't imagine their life without smartphones. But less than twenty years ago mobile phones were used to receive and make phone calls. It seems so ridiculous nowadays. Those mobile phones had the same functions as landline home telephones. But the technological progress does not stand still and each month we get new applications and functions on our smartphones. Today users can send and receive text messages, emails, chat on social networks, share photos and videos, listen to music, play online games and even use GPS navigators for travelling. Mobile phones have transformed into a vital networking tool that allows people all over the world to stay in touch at any time.

Smartphones have lots of advantages but we haven't to forget about their negative effects such as the danger of using cheat sheets on exams or phone conversations while driving. In some classrooms, a teacher picks up phones before exams to stop cheating.
