The best preserved Roman site in the city is the Roman Baths complex, which features the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple and the Roman Bath House. Despite the extensive damage the city sustained from bombing in World War II, Bath also has many fine examples of Georgian architecture in the Palladian revival style. One of the finest examples is The Circus, which is believed to have been inspired by the Colosseum in Rome.
