| A) Jacob Davis was the person who brought the idea of using metal snap fasteners on jeans pockets. Jeans used to be workers' wear in the past. The men put different things they needed for work into the pockets of the outfit and those often tore away from the pants. As Davis didn't have enough money to get a patent for his idea, he needed a partner. So he found Levi Strauss who invested his money into this invention and became one of the most famous jeans manufacturers in the world afterwards. | food

| B) Nowadays people contact mobile phones more than their friends. Some try to bring themselves to real communication by using tricks. For example, when friends meet in a restaurant, everybody puts his mobile phone in the middle of the table. You aren't allowed to touch it before you leave. If you take your phone to check messages oк make a call, you have to pay the whole bill. | ||
| C) It's never late to learn and study. The oldest student ever who went to a university at the age of 90 was Nola Ochs, the USA. She didn't think it was too late for her to become a student because all she really wanted was to get new knowledge. If you like learning age is not a reason to stop getting new skills. | ||
| D) Rainbow has always been one of nature's miracles. But this phenomenon has a scientific explanation. Its nature is optical which originates in the atmosphere after or during the rain. When the sun comes out, its light reflects in the raindrops and splits into the spectrum of colours. As a result we see a colourful arc in the sky. | ||
| E) Italy is associated with it's popular cuisine and cooking traditions. Pizza is probably the most famous Italian dish. Thanks to Italian immigrants, pizza came to the USA and later spreaded all over the world. Many people name pizza as their most favourite food. |
