Clauses of reason — дополнение причины, используется, когда мы хотим объяснить причину в высказывании.

Способы выражения:

• Because.

I sat at home because it was very cold outside.

• As/since (= because).

I sat at home since it was very cold outside.

• The reason for / the reason why.

The reason why I sat at home that day was bad weather.

Clauses of purpose — дополнение цели используется для объяснения того, кто что делает.

Способы выражения:

• In order to.

I came to the first floor in order to drink some water.

• To-infinitive.

I came to the first floor to drink some water.

• In case + Present Simple.

Sit at home in case it's going to rain.

Clauses of result — дополнение результата, для выражения результата.

Способы выражения:

• As a result.

He refused to go to the cinema and as a result was home alone.

• So.

He refused to go to the cinema, so he stayed at home alone.

• Such.

He was such a cool baker that received a lot of orders every week.

• So.

He was so tired that he refused to go to the cinema at the weekend.
