We live close to the ocean. So, I always go swimming on Friday. But in yesterday's forecast, I heard about big waves. This week will be extremely windy. My mum usually closes the shutters to protect the windows. We also have to turn off all the electricity.

I don't see too many tourists in winter or spring in the streets. All of us know that these months are the worst to come to England because of strong wind, fog and heavy rain. It's a usual situation when I go to school through the fog. I sometimes don't see anything one metre in front of me. I have to be careful.

I celebrated last Christmas in India. It was weird to swim in the ocean in January. In the UK, we start swimming in May. We can swim until November because of the warm Gulf Stream. There are so many surfers and divers. It's an amazing place to practise your diving skills and see beautiful sea creatures.

My school teacher told us about the weather superstitions in Britain. The British believe that cats that put their tails towards the fire indicate cold weather coming. Also, fat pigs bring severe winters. So don't give too much food to your pigs and the winter will be warm.
