An Educational Marathon

Last year I had a very interesting learning experience. I submitted a form to take part in an educational marathon.

As online education has become widespread nowadays, the idea of being a member of an online marathon won't seem far-fetched. This marathon was something like a crash course where you need to work hard to achieve some goal within a limited amount of time.

I was really motivated to refresh my skills and learn something new. So I filled in the questionnaire with my personal information, left some details about my previous learning experience and was waiting for the day to start my new student's life.

The marathon was called "Boost your English!". So, you can imagine what I, along with the other 50 so-called students, was doing there. Every week we were given different tasks on different topics. Every task was graded with some points. We needed to read texts, write essays, watch video lectures and listen to podcasts. Loads of material!

The supervisors were competent enough to answer all our questions and checked all our home assignments. The pass mark of the week was 70 %.

When the marathon finished, I got a certificate of attendance and active participation. Have I boosted my English skills? Well, I didn't get the first place, but it certainly was the best online learning experience ever!
