Albert Calmette was a French physician, bacteriologist and immunologist. Born in Nice, southern France, in 1863, he wanted to serve in the Navy and be a physician, A______________. As a student, he spent some time in Hong Kong, learning about tropical medicine. After graduating, he worked in the French Congo and Newfoundland, Canada.
