Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation, and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

Coffee has a fascinating history that spans centuries and various regions. It began in Ethiopia in the 9th century, where a goat herder discovered its stimulating effects. Coffee spread to Arabia, where it became popular among monks and coffeehouses emerged.

In the 16th century, coffee arrived in Europe and the first European coffeehouse opened in Venice. Coffee quickly gained popularity and café cultures flourished in cities like London and Paris. Coffee cultivation expanded to countries like Brazil and Colombia in the Americas, becoming a global commodity.

The industrial revolution brought advancements in processing and brewing methods, making coffee more accessible. The espresso machine revolutionised coffee preparation in the 19th century, leading to the rise of espresso bars.

Today, coffee remains a widely consumed beverage, with diverse flavours and brewing methods. It continues to be a social and cultural staple, connecting people in coffeehouses and cafés worldwide.
