A: As I understand, Olympic sports make a long list. Among the most known kinds of Olympic sports, both in summer and wintertime, I would like to mention first of all such major kinds of sports as athletics, basketball, cycling, football, gymnastics, and others.

A: Certainly. But not all of them are Olympic games. Some of the sports take place in the open and some inside the premises. So it is in the wintertime, it’s the winter Olympics.
B:
A: That’s it! So hockey, bobsleigh, ice dancing, skiing of all kinds, and the like are all winter sports.
B:
A: They were started in 1896 when they were held in Athens in Greece.
B:
A: Yes, they are.
B:
A: They begin when the Olympic flame is lit with a torch. The torch is carried by runners.
B:
A: Yes, it is. The event is seen as a time when people from all over the world come together to compete in a friendly way.
B:
A: It certainly is. And I am looking forward to it.
B:
A: They get gold, silver, and bronze medals.
B:
A: Not only for them but also for the country the winner is from.
