Основные случаи употребления инфинитива с частицей to

Мы используем инфинитивы с to в этих случаях.

• Чтобы выразить цель (отвечая на вопрос «почему?»).

To get the answer to this question, she asked her teacher.

I went to the shop to buy bread.

• После определённых глаголов: to warn, to hope, to decide, to expect, to promise, to threaten, to aim, to fail, to intend, to learn how, to manage, to need, to offer, to plan, to prefer, to refuse, to want, to remember.

I promise to learn irregular verbs by heart.

• После прилагательных.

Nice to meet you.

I'm happy to see you again.

• После «too + прилагательное» и «прилагательное + enough».

Основные случаи употребления инфинитива без частицы to

• После модальных глаголов (must, should, can, may, shall, would).

• После глаголов let (allow somebody to do something) и make (force somebody to do something):
