The Far Eastern Federal District is a federal district of the Russian Federation located in its Far East, formed by the Decree of the President of Russia of May 13, 2000. The first administrative centre was the city of Khabarovsk - the largest city in the district by population. On December 13, 2018, Vladivostok became the capital city of the district.
