Ecological problems have become most urgent recently. Some people consider that it concerns only the governments. However, there is an opinion that every person can help improve the ecological situation.

I strongly believe that ordinary people can help solve this problem because they can do a lot if they are responsible and active. My opinion finds a wide support.

First of all, there are some voluntary organizations, because people unite their efforts to solve ecological problems. For example, Green Peace is a very influential organiza¬tion which does a lot in this field.

Apart from this, people can organize meet¬ings and movements to put pressure on their governments, because thus they attract attention to urgent problems. For instance, the forests in Khimkinsky region near Mos¬cow were saved by united actions of ordinary people.

Finally, every person can make their contribution, because there is damage which is caused by people themselves. For example, people must not throw litter everywhere they go if they want to keep their places clean.

Opponents of this way say that only governments can solve ecological problems because they are able to make laws protecting the environment. For example, they can close some factories which emit harmful waste into the atmosphere.

I doubt whether supporters of this point of view are right, because the united actions of people can have the same effect. Only together we can make our planet cleaner and safer.

To sum it up, I am sure that ordinary people can improve the ecological situation on our planet because if they act together, they can have an influence on big companies and on governments. Besides, they can fight against the environmental pollution personally and share their ideas with everyone around.
