The Tower of London is one of the most amazing castles in England. Hundreds of years ago it was a royal palace and a prison. Now, in the XXI century it's a famous museum. The ancient White Tower is very interesting. People call it the White Tower because its walls are very tall and white. Also it's ancient — king William I built it 1000 years ago.

Also black ravens live in the Tower of London. People care and look after them. Londoners believe that while ravens live in the Tower, the country will be rich.

Beefeaters (also they are called Yeoman Warders) are the guardians of the Tower. They began guarding the fortress in 1485. There are 35 Yeoman Warders today. The guardians live inside the fortress with their families.
