The Moscow Zoo
The Moscow zoo is over 150 years old. It’s the first zoo in Russia and one of the first in the world!
Today in the Moscow Zoo you can see streams and waterfalls! More than 6,000 animals call the zoo home. Every day giraffes and elephants, monkeys and seals make children and their parents happy. There are also crocodiles and even a museum of rainworms!
Also at the zoo, people take care of rare animals like the tiger. You can also see popular animals from fairy tales such as wolves, goats and even little piglets!
Because the Moscow Zoo is in the city centre, there is not really as much space as it needs. There are plans now to build another bigger zoo away from the centre of Moscow. That’s a great idea more space, more amazing animals!
