Elizabeth I carried out many reforms in the state. For example, she returned Protestantism to England by the Royal decree and actually gained power over the Church. By the end of her life, Elizabeth I was very sick, and she often fell into depression, because of the frequent deaths of her friends. In 1603 her melancholy was the reason to refuse from all the benefits of life. Later the Queen died. She was buried in Westminster Abbey. Elizabeth I had no children, and the Tudor dynasty ceased after her death. Elizabeth I gave the throne to the son of Mary Stuart, James when she was in her right mind. Elizabeth's I image was very bright and memorable, and she was praised by many playwrights and painters for her extraordinary beauty. Now the British remember her as kind Queen Bess.
