England, Wales and Ireland have different national days in spring. The 23rd of April is St George's Day. There are celebrations in England on this day, but many people don't even know why these celebrations take place. Five hundred years ago, people celebrated St George's day with huge feasts and dances, but over the years, English people forgot about St George. Perhaps this is because St George is not only the patron of England but also the patron saint of Portugal, Germany and Lithuania. By the way, the 23rd of April is also the date of Shakespeare's birthday.
