Cambridge University (or University of Cambridge), one of the oldest universities in Europe and the second oldest in the UK, was founded in 1209. Cambridge University has more than 150 faculties, departments, research centres and institutes which are united in 6 separate schools. It also has 31 colleges, so when entering the university, students usually face a serious problem — how to choose the right one.

The Cambridge college system is completely different from the standard system in other higher educational institutions of Europe. Each Cambridge college is a separate structure, which includes residence halls, a library, a computer centre, lecture buildings, sports centres and gyms, a park, a dining hall, a theatre, a medieval chapel and many other building. After spending time at the faculty or in the laboratory, the students spend most of their free time in college. The students' social, sports and everyday life also takes place there. So, when students choose a college they, in fact, choose their social circle and lifestyle. That is why it is very important to choose a college that best suits one's taste.

When choosing a college, it's necessary to pay attention to the following factors:

  • college academic profile;
  • location;
  • level of prestige;
  • duration of accommodation in the residence hall;
  • look and exterior.

In order to make up one's mind, students can study information about each college on the Internet.
