The Russian scientist Mikhail Vasilievich Lomonosov was born in 1711, in a small village in the northern Russia. He was very smart and loved to learn. As soon as he learned to read, little Mikhail read all the books he could get in his village.
When he was young, he moved to Moscow to study at a university. Lomonosov was a man of unusual abilities. He was interested in many different subjects, like physics, chemistry, and astronomy. He made a lot of important discoveries during his lifetime. One of them was the Law of the Conservation of Mass \(Закон сохранения энергии\).
In addition to his scientific work, Lomonosov was also a talented writer, artist and teacher. He founded the first university in Russia in 1755 and helped many students to become scientists.
Mikhail Lomonosov continued to make important contributions to science and culture until his death in 1765. Today, Lomonosov is remembered as one of the greatest scientists in Russian history.
