Snowdrops

There are 75 different species of snowdrops. They are all white. Snowdrops can grow wild and they are specially planted in the gardens.

A snowdrop plant looks like three drops of milk. That is why their Latin name is Galanthus. It means "milk-white flowers".

They are very small and look more beautiful when they are planted in a large number.

They start blooming very early. Snowdrops may even bloom all winter long in the South.
