In 1949, an American actor Sam Wanamaker came to London where he wanted to visit the famous Globe Theatre in which William Shakespeare had staged his plays. What he found was the place where . In June 1997, Queen Elizabeth II opened the International Shakespeare Globe Centre, a replica of Shakespeare’s theatre. Sadly, Sam Wanamaker had died several years and wasn’t in the audience to see his dream finally come true.
