Nowadays, people know for sure that the Earth is not the centre of the Universe and not even the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy. Moreover, even in its own planetary system, the Earth is not the centre, otherwise our system would be called the Terrestrial, and not the Solar.
The model, in which the Earth is in the centre of the Universe, is called geocentric (because "geo" in ancient Greek means "earth"). Aristotle and Ptolemy assumed that all objects in the Universe, which they knew at that time, moved around the Earth.
The model, in which the Sun is in the centre of our planetary system, that means the Earth, other planets and objects revolve around it, is called heliocentric (because "helios" in Greek means "sun"). This idea of the world order was expressed by Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton. Later it became scientifically known that they were right.
Choose the correct answers.

- [Heliocentric model|Universe|Geocentric model] is such a structure of the world in which the planet Earth is in the centre of our planetary system.
