One day Jane went to her favourite bakery. She wanted to buy a piece of cake for lunch. Mr. Bell, the baker, made the best cakes in the world. She paid for her cake and went to the school yard. She started to eat the cake but it wasn't tasty. In fact, it was awful. At that moment her friend Sam came up to her. He saw the cake and said, "Is it from Mr. Bell's bakery? I don't buy his cakes any more. They taste very bad."

Suddenly they noticed Jim and Jack, two brothers. There was a strange smile on their faces when they saw the cake in Jane's hands. Jim and Jack liked to play stupid jokes on people.

"Something is wrong!", said Jane. "I have a plan."

After school they watched the brothers and they were right. Jim and Jack went into the bakery shop. "Can we help you again, Mr. Bell?" they asked. "Oh, please, thank you," answered Mr. Bell.

Jenny and Sam looked into the kitchen window and saw the boys. The boys had salt on their hands and there was salt on the cakes. "Now I understand what happened to the cakes," said Jane. "They put salt in them."

Mr. Bell was very angry and shouted at Jim and Jack.

"Go away from my shop and never come back!"
