Some of the most common minerals are iron, calcium and zinc. Iron supports blood cells, calcium strengthens our bones, and zinc is responsible for wound healing and immunity.

There is another essential element along with micro- and macroelements. It's water. Hydration is a key process in our bodies. It helps nutrients reach their destination in the organism and helps remove the substances we don't need. Dehydration often leads to physical and mental discomfort. The best way to stay hydrated is to drink still, unsweetened, clear water. Although all liquids contain water, staying hydrated by drinking sweet lemonades or juices is not a good idea. You'd better prefer fresh fruit, which contains water too, to a carton of orange juice.
