A stranger on the road Last summer, my parents and I went on a relaxing holiday to the UK. We drove from London to Edinburgh in Scotland. It was a long drive, but the countryside was really beautiful. We saw a lot of mountains and lakes. My father is a big fan of driving, so he was very happy. On the last day, we wanted to go to a famous castle near Edinburgh. In the morning, we got up early and left our hotel. We were excited because it was a sunny day. But after half an hour, something unexpected happened. Our car broke down! My dad tried to start the car again and again. The broken car didn't react. We couldn't see any other cars or houses around. There was no mobile phone signal, so we couldn't call for help. We didn't know what to do. We thought that we could walk to the nearest gas station to ask for help, but the weather changed. It started raining heavily. So, we just sat in the car and waited. My dad's smiling face changed, we could see that he was almost crying. Then, after an hour, we saw a person. His parked car was on the other side of the road. Although the weather was rainy, he wore sunglasses and a cap. He asked us, 'Hello, are you OK? Is anything wrong?', then told us not to worry. So, he called a tow truck. I didn’t understand how he did it, because our phones didn't have any signal. Then he waited for the tow truck with us. He was very friendly and funny. After about an hour, the tow truck came and took our broken car to a garage. My mother and I said 'thank you' many times. At some point the helping man took off his sunglasses. My dad told me quietly, ‘I know him, I have seen him somewhere!’ Later that night we arrived to our hotel. We talked about who that man was. We turned on the TV and saw the man who had helped us. He was a famous film actor! We couldn't believe it! A famous star helped us! 1) What did the man with sunglasses do to help?
